Accessibility
Shepherd of the Hills is located in the beauty of the Berkeley Hills at one of the entrances to Tilden Park. Here are a few things to note when you visit - please reach out with any particular questions via the contact page below.
Parking
We have a parking lot at the back of our building located up a steep drive way off of Wildcat Canyon Dr. Parking is also available on the street on Grizzly Peak Blvd. You can also reach us via the 65 line
Children/Sensory
Our worship includes amplified voices, live music, and people noises. We have wide open space at the back of the church and a book, toy and art area for children of all ages. Outside and down a set of narrow stairs we have a playground. We believe that children are a sacred and necessary part of worship and hope to foster an inclusive space for families to participate and feel welcome.
Arriving
From the Parking lot you can access our front doors by following the sidewalk up and around to two big red doors. There is a slight incline from the parking lot coming up to the entrance.
Bathrooms
Bathrooms are located outside and down a set of narrow stairs below the main worship area. We have a chairlift available for those who need. Our bathrooms are two all-gender single-room bathrooms.
I have more questions! Who do I ask?
At SOTH we are community of questioners -- so you've come to the right place! Feel free to contact us below with further questions.
We also encourage you to come and check us out!
We welcome you!
Seating
Right now we are seated mostly in pews (benches) facing forward during worship. There is wide open space at the back of the church with couches, chairs, coffee, and tea that can accommodate different seating needs such as wheelchairs. We encourage movement and taking care of your body's needs during the service!
What do I wear?
At SOTH we wear what makes us feel good and comfortable. For some folks this might be a suit jacket and tie. For others, a pair of jeans or a sweat shirt. Because we are in the hills, most Sundays we begin services in fog and chilly weather and end in sun, so we recommend you bring a layer with you as it might be a little chilly!
